Quienes nos seguís por Instagram os habréis dado cuenta de que en las últimas semanas hemos tenido la cabeza algo ocupada remodelando y decorando un local al que hemos llamado Imagink Solutions. Es un proyecto que lleva ya un tiempo en nuestras vidas pero que, por diversas circunstancias, no pudo hacerse realidad hasta hace un mes. Hoy hemos decidido compartir con vosotros nuestro nuevo "hogar". Sabemos que pasaremos aquí muchas horas a partir de ahora, por eso quisimos que la decoración fuese muy personal dónde la inspiración fluya por sí sola. Las paredes todavía están algo vacías, pero con las ganas que tenemos de producir, estamos seguras de que se llenarán en poco tiempo. Sin más, os damos la bienvenida a nuestra nueva vida :) 

Those who follow us on Instagram may have noticed that in the past few weeks we have been a bit busy remodeling and decorating a place that we called Imagink Solutions. It is a project that has been in our minds for a long time but, for different circumstances, couldn't become real until a month ago. Today we decided to share with you our new "home". We know we are going to spend here lots and lots of hours from now on, so we wanted the decoration to be very personal where the inspiration flows by itself. The walls are still a little empty , but with the desire we have to do a great work, we are sure they are going to be full in no time. Without further ado, we welcome you to our new life :)

IT'S 80'S BABE

Hace unos días os hablamos de una sesión de fotos muy especial que habíamos realizado. Como lo prometido es deuda, aquí están esas fotos. Son el trabajo de final de curso de Carolina, que acaba de concluir el ciclo de Fotografía Artística. La idea se centraba en desarrollar un editorial para una revista de moda centrado en los años 80, de modo que tan importantes eran los looks como reflejar la actitud de rebeldía y enfado que primaba en aquella época. Hicimos dos sesiones y aquí tenéis una pequeña selección de ambas. ¿Os gustan?

A few days ago, we told you about a very special photo shoot. As promised is a debt, here you have those pictures. They are the final work of Carolina's grade in Artistic Photography. The idea was about a fashion magazine editorial focused in 80's, so the looks were as important as reflecting the rebel and mad actitude of that time. We did two shoots and here you have a little selection of both. Do you like them?

MANUEL OUTUMURO

El fotógrafo que os traemos hoy es en parte especial para nosotras. Además de ser uno de nuestros favoritos (hasta asistimos a una masterclass impartida por él), es de una zona muy próxima a donde nosotras vivimos.

 Manuel Outumuro (Ourense, 1949) empezó su formación en el campo del diseño gráfico y, aunque no abandonó de todo este arte, toda su carrera giró en torno a la fotografía de moda. Sus fotografías han sido publicadas en diferentes revistas nacionales e internacionales como Vogue, Elle, Telva, Fotogramas o Marie Claire -para la que trabaja actualmente- además de realizar campañas para marcas de renombre. Su estilo personal, siempre marcado por su gran afición al cine, refleja la importancia de la luz y el movimiento en sus fotografías. Como podréis apreciar, su trabajo está muy influenciado por el de Richard Avedon.

The fashion photographer that we bring you today is kind of special for us. Besides he is one of our favourites (we even went to a masterclass given by him), is from a place really near from where we live.

Manuel Outumuro (Ourense, 1949) began his education in the field of graphic design and, although he never abandoned that art completely, his entire career turned around fashion photography. His pictures have been published in different national and international magazines like Vogue, Elle, Telva or Marie Claire -for which he works at this moment- besides shooting campaigns for reputed brands. His personal style, always touched by his love for cinema, shows the importance of the light and the movement in his photos. As you may see, his work is very influenced by Richard Avedon.

RICHARD AVEDON

Con el inicio del año nuevo, llegan las novedades a Double Mode. Una de ellas es que cada semana dedicaremos una entrada a un fotógrafo de moda. No es ningún secreto lo mucho que nos gusta la fotografía y es imposible que esto ocurra sin tener en cuanta a quienes fueron sentando las bases de cómo componer una fantástica imagen de moda. Para inaugurar esta sección no podíamos elegir otro nombre más que el de Richard Avedon (Nueva York, 1923-Texas, 2004). Es uno de los más importantes del siglo XX y su contribución a este género fotográfico fue tal que el mismo "The New York Times" le dedicó el siguiente obituario: "Sus fotografías de moda y sus retratos han ayudado a definir, durante el último medio siglo, la imagen de belleza, elegancia y cultura". Aunque Avedon es mucho más que un fotógrafo de moda -también realizó antológicos reportajes y retratos-, sus principales contribuciones a este campo durante las décadas de los 60 y los 70 han pasado por dotar a las modelos de libertad y dinamismo en sus movimientos, rompiendo de este modo la sumisión y debilidad que primaba hasta la fecha. Richard Avedon fue jefe de fotografía de Harper's Bazaar, pero también colaboró con Vogue o Life, entre otras. With the begining of the new year, news come to Double Mode. One of them is that every week we will dedicate a post to a fashion photographer. It's not a secret that we love photography and it is impossible to do it without noticing those who were setting the stage of how to make a wonderful fashion image. To open up the section we couldn't choose any other name that Richard Avedon (New York, 1923-Texas, 2004). He is one of the most important artist of the XX century and his contribution to this photographic genre was so big that even "The New York Times" dedicated this obituary: "his fashion and portrait photographs helped define America's image of style, beauty and culture for the last half-century". Although Avedon is more than a fashion photographer -he also did confusing reports and portraits-, his main contributions to this field during the 60's and 70's have gone through providing the models of freedom and dynamism in their movements, breaking this way the submission and weakness that prevailed untill then. Richard Avedon was photographer in chief in Harper's Bazaar, but he also worked for Vogue or Life, among other. ROMARÍA POP

Hoy traemos un post diferente. Cómo pudisteis ver los que nos seguís por Instagram (@doublemode), ayer fuimos a Santiago de Compostela. Uno de los motivos fue para acudir a la Romaría Pop que celebraba su segunda edición. Una vez allí, todo nos parecía tan fotografiable que quisimos compartir con vosotros algunos de los detalles que más nos llamaron la atención. Hemos creado un álbum en nuestra página de Facebook para que podáis verlas todas. 

Today we bring you a different post. Yesterday we went to Santiago de Compostela. One of the reasons was to go to the "Romaría Pop", a pop festival that celebrated its second edition. Once there, everything seemed so photografable that we wanted to share some of the best details with you. We made an album in our Facebook page so you can see all of the pictures. 

LISBON DIARIES: EASTER (PART II)

Segunda y última parte de las fotos de nuestras vacaciones. Esta vez, en las zonas más turísticas de Lisboa, la Praza do Comercio (una pena que estuviesen reformándola), toda la zona de la Baixa y la Torre de Belem. De verdad esperamos que os gusten las fotos. Mañana, como os dijimos, el vídeo del viaje, nos apetecía hacer algo diferente a las fotos y ya nos diréis qué os parece el resultado :)

Second and last part of our holiday's photos. This time, in some of the most touristic places of Lisbon, Praza do Comercio (such a pitty that it was on restore), the Baixa area and Belem Tower. We really hope you like the pictures. Tomorrow, as we said, a little video about our trip, we felt like doing somethign different from just photos so we are expecting your reactions about the result :)

LISBON DIARIES: EASTER (PART I)

¡Hemos vuelto! No es que nos alegremos de que se hayan acabado las minivacaciones, pero al menos tenemos las fotos para recordarlo :D Hemos hecho una pequeña selección para no aburriros, pero con todo nos han quedado suficientes para dos entradas. Aquí está la primera parte. El tiempo no nos acompañó, la verdad, pero disfrutamos al máximo del viaje. Lisboa nunca nos defrauda y ya estamos buscando hueco para una próxima vez. Mañana, la segunda parte. El miércoles, un vídeo con todas nuestras "aventuras" en la capital portuguesa y el jueves, las nuevas compras (como siempre, hemos picado). ¿Qué tal vuestras vacaciones? ¿Habéis tenido oportunidad de disfrutarlas?

We are back! Not that we are glad that the holidays are over, but at least we have the photos to remember :D We have done a little selection to be as brief as possible, but even this way  we have enough for two posts. Here is the first part. The weather wasn't in our side, but we enjoyed as much as we could. Lisbon never let us down and we are already looking forward the next time. Tomorrow we'll show you the second part. On Wednesday, a little video showing our "adventures" there and on Thursday  our new purchases (as always, we did it). How about your holidays? Raigame

Hoy os traemos una entrada algo especial. Cada 17 de mayo, en Galicia se celebra el Día das Letras Galegas. En Vilanova dos Infantes (un pueblo cercano que ya os hemos enseñado varias veces) hay una fiesta que nos encanta. Se llama Raigame y pretende recrear una romería tradicional de principios del siglo XX. En su organización participa un grupo de folclore del que formaba parte Carolina y cuyos miembros son también amigos de Rosalía :D. Aunque normalmente nos solíamos vestir igual que el resto, este año nos decidimos a última hora y, al final, acabamos yendo de "modernas" :) Aun así, es una fiesta genial, con puestos de artesanía, instrumentos tradicionales, talleres y tabernas. Definitivamente, una de nuestras favoritas en todo el calendario. 

Today we bring you a special entry. Every May 17th, Galicia celebrates Dia das Letras Galegas (Galician Letters Day). In Vilanova dos Infantes, (a nearby town that we've showed you guys on several occasions) there's a party that we love. It's called Raigame and it recreates traditional festivities from the early 20th century. The folklore group, that Carolina was a part of and whose members are also friends with Rosalía :D, participates in organizing it. We usually dress in traditional clothes, like everyone else, but this year we decided to go with a "modern" look :). It's a great celebration, with crafts stands, traditional instruments, shops, and taverns. It's definitely one of our favorites from the whole calendar.

TRIP TO VIANA DO CASTELO

Hemos alterado un poco el orden de publicación para mostraros las fotos del viaje que Carolina hizo a Viana do Castelo  (en el norte de Portugal). Es una ciudad pequeñita pero preciosa. Si tenéis oportunidad, no dejéis de visitarla. 

We've change a little the order of publication to show you the pictures of the trip Carolina made to Viana do Castelo (in the north of Portugal). It is a tiny but beautiful town. If you have the chance, you must visit it. 

A WALK IN THE CLOUDS

Estamos realmente orgullosas del resultado de estas fotos. La idea comenzó como un chiste y al final centramos la sesión en "Un paseo por las nubes". Esperamos que os gusten. ¡Buen fin de semana!
